Flax Seed
Flax seeds are abundant in omega-3 content. In fact flax has one of the most concentrated sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids help to nourish hair follicles, increase elasticity of hair fibers and the anti-inflammatory properties help reduce a dry scalp, psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions. Flax seeds are also rich in other vitamins and minerals and contain protein so as a result of using hair becomes healthier, and stronger.
Now that we have learned why flax seeds are so good for hair lets get into how to make this all natural hair gel.
What you Will Need
1 tablespoon flax seeds
1/2 cup water
(Optional) 10-15 drops essential oil of choice
How To Make:
Bring water to a boil then add in the flax seeds, stir and bring it back to boiling. Once to boiling bring to medium heat and keep stirring till it reaches a syrup like consistency. Pour over a strainer and allow the gel to separate from the seeds (you can also use a cheese cloth, or pair of clean painty hose). As it cools it will thicken in consistency. Once cooled add and mix in essential oils if choice. Adding grapefruit essential oil helps to preserve the gel and adds a pleasant energizing smell. Store in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
How To Use:
To you use simple apply a small amount of gel on hands and distribute evenly throughout wet or dry hair. Depending on your preference use a small amount to tame and rejuvenate your curl or wave or use more to get that gelled effect.
