Let's get down and dirty and make some dish soap! These is a very simple and quick recipe that is sure to keep your dishes squeaky clean! This dish soap can also be dual purpose and be used as a liquid dish washer soap.
For this recipe you will need a castile soap bar, white distilled vinegar, and essential oils of choice. Before we get started here is a run down of why each ingredient is important.
Castile Soap
Castile soap is an all plant-based-soap which earlier centuries were made form local olive oil in the Castile region of Spain but can be made from any plant oil. These soaps contain no animal by-product or synthetic detergents. Synthetic detergents can be stripping and irritate those with skin sensitivity or those who could be allergic to the detergent themselves. In addition plant-based-soaps break down and bio-degrade substantially quicker than these detergents which eliminates the pollution from waste during manufacturing, use, when it goes down the drain and on and on.
White Vinegar
The vinegar will be acting as a natural non-toxic detergent. It contains acetic acid that forms during the fermentation of sugars or starches which gives vinegar its pungent smell and sour taste. Acetic acid is great at disinfecting as it kills fungus and microbes and attacks mold and mildew. Vinegar is also great at removing unpleasant odors.
Essential Oils
When choosing essential oils choose essential oils that have antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, antifugal or digressing properties.
